There are many different tail types on bettas. The ones listed below are the most known to people. Probably the most scene tail type is the Veil Tail, it is usually the only type of tail your local fish store will have.
- Veil Tail
- Crown Tail
- Double Tail
- Round Tail
- Delta / Super Delta
Veil Tail - They are really easy to tell. They have a "strand" of fin as their caudal fin. which is the end tail. Here is a diagram of a betta.
So Here is a picture of a Veil Tail below.
The Halfmoon - This one is very popular with the breeders. These fish have a caudal fin that spans 180 degrees.
Crown Tail - This type has rays that extend out from his fins.
Double Tail - This one has two tail lobes as its caudal fin.
Round Tail - Well perty easy, it has a round tail!
Plakat - These bettas have shorter fins than the others.
Delta / Super Delta - These are bettas that do not have 180 degrees span but are close. These usually have a triangular shape to their caudal fin.
Hope this helps you with tails. I will be adding more types.
